His misunderstanding of her spelling recommendation led him to begin training classically as a boy soprano, and his life would never be the same.
He joined his father's barbershop chorus as a tenor and began performing on stage in concerts, musicals, and operas across Massachusetts. In fact, Ray and Dan had their first shared musical experience (unbeknownst to them at the time) as members of the MMEA All-State Chorus in 2000.
Attending The Hartt School of Music provided Ray with an education in the Broadway style of singing and a more nuanced and refined performance. It was here that he became a founding member of Men In Black, the Barbershop Harmony Society's 2005 Collegiate Quartet Champions and perennial International Finalists. He spent many years touring the world with the quartet before they retired from competition in 2014.
He is currently the director of three fine barbershop choruses, a voice teacher at his own Sound Foundation Studio, and is working toward become a professional actor.
