The Seventh Variety is an award winning barbershop quartet based in Los Angeles and Orange County, California. Formed in 2021, the quartet grew out of a shared background in vocal performance and a mutual passion for close harmony singing. Since its founding, the group has focused on developing creating an authentic performance style that is entertaining and fun for all audiences.
The quartet s members first connected through The Citrus Singers program at Citrus College in Glendora where they started to discover their unique performance style. Their performances show off their background experience in musical theater and present barbershop music in a way that maintains authenticity to the style, while also making it accessible in the modern day.
The Seventh Variety has earned significant recognition through competition within the Barbershop Harmony Society. Competitive highlights include a bronze medal at the Barbershop Harmony Society s Next Generation Contest, first place at the Far Western District South West Division contest, first place at the Far Western District Quartet Competition, and the Dealer s Choice Award at the International Quartet Contest, presented to the highest-scoring first-time competing quartet.
Committed to continued artistic growth, The Seventh Variety regularly performs, competes, and represents the barbershop tradition throughout Southern California and beyond. Above all, the quartet strives to share the joy, camaraderie, and musical craftsmanship that define barbershop harmony while creating meaningful musical experiences for audiences and fellow singers alike.
