Find A Cappella is a Bay Area based a cappella ensemble composed of vocal singers, music lovers, and young professionals whose paths intersected through music rather than tradition. Our voices come from across the Bay Area tech community, but our ensemble identity has been shaped on stage through ambitious concerts, attentive audiences, and a shared commitment to singing with purpose. We held our first concert in October 2022, followed by a second full-scale concert in November 2023 that more than doubled our audience size. These performances challenged us to grow quickly, refine our ensemble sound, and think carefully about pacing, repertoire, and emotional arc skills we bring directly into competitive and showcase settings. As a minority group proud of our Chinese heritage and Asian identity, our ensemble reflects a broad range of personal journeys and perspectives. This diversity informs our musical choices and the way we communicate on stage. For many of us, life in the Bay Area means building a sense of home far from family and familiar places. Our ensemble grew out of that shared experience, shaping both how we rehearse and how we perform. Our repertoire spans pop and musical theater, with influences from jazz, folk, and church music, unified by a focus on ensemble blend, rhythmic clarity, and emotional sincerity. As regular performers at the annual Techapella Showcase and frequent participants in Harmony Sweepstakes events, we aim to contribute performances that are polished, grounded, and memorable rooted in connection, clarity, and collective voice.
