Groups By Region
Aca-word consists mainly of high schoolers from Clayton Valley Charter High School. As a group, we focus on producing beautiful music because of our love of singing. We have performed for many school events as well as our local community. We mainly cover pop songs, always adding on new ideas to the original arrangement and we love expanding our creativity and musicality with new arrangements. As young performers, we provide a fresh, unique outlook on our pieces that we hope to bring to this competition. Although we may be "Aca-word" teenagers, we do not sound "Aca-word" when we sing!

Musaic's mission is to share beautiful men's a cappella singing with our Bay Area community. Our music is rooted in classical choral traditions, through a repertoire of many genres and languages. The members of Musaic are passionate about men's ensemble singing, and enjoy the artistic balance and musical fellowship it brings to our lives. Musaic was founded in 2000 as a few friends gathering to sing for our own pleasure. We took the name Musaic to represent a mosaic of song and voice. The Uptones (originally Uptown Sound) was formed by young professionals in Chicago who wanted to start an adventure in the world of contemporary a cappella. Our members come from many walks of musical life, including musical theatre, choirs, and college a cappella groups. With humble roots in caroling around the city during the 2009 holiday season, the group got its first big break performing at a small cafeé called Lincoln Perk in the summer of 2010 to a capacity crowd. The group continues to host bi-annual concerts and is currently recording their very first album.
